98% Certain - Going to Nitto 421Q's - Final Thoughts?
Getting new tires for my 2011 JGC (20" wheels - QT1). The vast majority of my driving is highway and some city. I'm in south east Michigan so we do get some snow but the roads get plowed within a day. I don't do any real "off roading". I do go down some 2 tracks and sometimes into grassy fields when hunting. Sometimes that can get a little wet and squishy but I'm not doing any deep, back-country treks.
I've had A/T tires on vehicles in the past but I probably really didn't need them as much as I thought I did at the time.
I think I've decided to go with the Nitto 421Q's. The only thing making me just slightly apprehensive is the "concern" (if you could call it that) that the tire might not perform as need when I go down a slightly muddy 2 track or a wet and slightly mushy field, or a snow covered 2 track when hunting. If it will perform in those environments, I'm golden. Those situations happen maybe 3-6 times a year for me (on average).
I don't want to sacrifice the highway performance, comfort and low noise (plus extra wearability) for an A/T type tre that I may not even need, if I don't need to.
I can get 4 tires out the door with road hazzard for $828 at Discount Tire with a $50 rebate, putting my cost at $778.
