I went with my girlfriend to pick out the Christmas tree yesterday! Had to snap a picture of the tree on the roof! Cut this one down myself at Broadview Tree Farm in Michigan. Anyone else gone Tree Hunting? Post those pics! Cheers!

My Mopar rack will securely bring home at least a dozen Christmas trees. Happy Holidays WK2ers!

Glad to see it works. :)

We will be getting ours this weekend although I don't have the crossbars on yet. I was afraid the tree may hurt the roof (sap droppings or weight denting) so if I can get the crossbars installed in time that should take care of at least one concern.

I've had an artificial tree for quite a while now, so no tree hauling for me.

I actually prefer the artificial one because some of the ornaments I have are quite heavy and the fake tree supports them better instead of the branches sagging like on a real one. In addition, I can create a perfect space for a small train ornament that actually sits across a couple branches. I can also leave one or two bottom limbs off on the back to avoid blocking the heat register, as well. Finally, I never have to worry about accidentally leaving an ornament on the tree when it's taken down. Worst case, it's still on there the next year instead of attached to the tree when it goes out to the curb.

Of course, no watering and no dropping needles all over is a bonus, too. It looks about as real as an artificial tree can get, too. The only real downside is, at around 7' tall and around 5 feet at the widest, it's big and heavy to haul out and pack away and to actually store it. The box is big enough to ship a leg lamp in - or bury me in when I have a heart attack schlepping it around.

The only thing I do miss is the smell and actually going out and getting the tree. However, that $150 or so I spent on a post Christmas clearance model a decade ago has more than paid for itself - and being able to leave it up as long or as little as I want is very nice.

Here's a shot of it decorated from a previous year:
