A jeep thing?

So, I've had the overland about 3 weeks now.. love it but wondered (being new to the WK2) ....are we accepted in the jeep world, or are we outsiders since Chrysler bought them out? Had an 05 rubicon and used to get the jeep wave. Maybe its a wrangler thing? Just wondering

Re: A jeep thing?

The "Jeep wave" is pretty much just for the Wrangler guys... My dad is adamant about it being strictly a Wrangler thing but I have been waved at a couple times in my WJ.

Re: A jeep thing?

I had a liberty for about 6 years and other jeep owners would look in another direction when I'd pass by. I have a WK2 now and nobody waves, however nobody looks away now so I guess its an improvement. I'm guessing its a wrangler thing.

Re: A jeep thing?

Sounds as selective as the "Harley Wave."

That was what, around 25 years ago? That's quite a grudge.

Re: A jeep thing?

I tried waving to other WK2's for a while, but no one waived back.

If someone waved to me at first I'd wonder why they were waving at me then I'd look at them strangely and say "why the heck are they waving? Did I leave the baby on the roof again?" It wouldn't dawn on me until they were way past me that it was because I had a Jeep.

Before you get your britches in a bunch I don't have a baby anymore and I never left him on the roof. ;-)

Re: A jeep thing?

Its a Wrangler thing but as I have a lifted jeep, I wave to and get waved at by other lifted jeeps. In fact some kid tracked me down on the highway the other day in a white Cherokee to check out Beatrix and give me the thumbs up.

Re: A jeep thing?

It is a Wrangler (and Corvette) thing, but I am waving to other WK2 owners!
