About to be a new owner, 2015 Summit

As stated in another post, I was a previous Jeep owner including a ZJ, WJ (V8) and a 2011 JGC Overland w/ Hemi. The latter was the need to have a SUV and my wife, who usually drove it, stated "enough, I want a sedan". After two years she stated "I want to go back to a SUV". So she did, first to a Ford Escape and now a BMW X3. I thought that I could stay with a sedan. Well, with hauling mountain bikes, 1 1/4 dogs (4 month old puppy) and house projects, ski trips, etc., I need to have a SUV of my own.

I looked at a few types including a BMW X3 and X5. If I had unlimited funds, I would opt for a BMW X5M. But it's not in my budget. In the end, today, I have agreed to a deal on a MY15 Summit w/ Hemi. It's black on black with 20 miles on the odometer. I suspect that it was used for 1-2 test drives. I prefer less miles but it's not a deal breaker.

I was considering the Overland trim. I test drove one with the Pentastar engine. I was impressed except for highway passing. In my opinion, you need to be calculated with and allow for more distance vs. the Hemi. Plus I prefer the sound and feel of the V8. With most manufactures using forced induction engines, I look at it as the last opportunity to get a NA V8 engine in a mid-size SUV.

In short, I will be picking up my Summit mid next month. I have a busy schedule and I don't need it until October/November. I was a good deal for me. I'll be leasing it. Payment is $590 per month based on 3/36k with no money down. For now, it will go with my existing vehicle, a BMW 435i Gran Coupe.

I've moved my timeline up and will be taking delivery on Saturday. Pictures will come once it's in my possession. Otherwise it's a Summit w/ Hemi black/black. I almost selected the Deep Auburn with black/brown interior.

Deep auburn is a nice color, but metallic black is hard to beat when properly detailed. Enjoy the new Summit, they drive wonderful.

Wow that payment seems low with nothing down. What is the residual?

I agree Metallic Black is a nice color when clean. With Fall and Winter around the corner, I suspect my car will be in a constant state filth. My preferred color would've been Granite. White would've been a consideration if there was one with the brown interior.

Congrats from another BMW (M3 for me) and Jeep owner! We love our Limited, but yeah the Summit is amazing.

I live in a tax free state. Otherwise, yes. Walk-in, sign paperwork (on Friday) and leave with a Summit. I looked the numbers from Chrysler Credit. They had a much better m.f. but lower residual resulting in a higher payment by (roughly) $40. If I was going to keep it beyond the lease term I would've gone this route. For me it will be a 3-year rental.

Nice looking M3. It appears to have the Competition Pkg and the Interlagos Blue paint. Nice combination. MT or SMG?

I had a 2013 M3 coupe that I sold last September. Now I regret that decision. I'm now looking at the upcoming M2 or M4 for next spring/summer. Below is a picture from the day of delivery. The best non-practical car that I owned.
