AC does not come on after engine start?

Anyone experienced the AC not coming on after engine has started and AC knob pressed? This is on a 2014 Summit. This happened 3 times at varied points.
However, when I turned off the engine, waited 60 seconds or so, then turned the engine on and pressed the AC knob, the AC came on.

Thanks for any input!

Sounds like you need to visit your local/friendly dealership for service.

My HVAC always comes on when starting the vehicle.

There was a TSB for older vehicles where the A/C would not come on with remote start (which affected my Jeep and was fixed under warranty).

What do you mean by pressing the AC knob? The air should be in auto mode if that's how it was last time you shut off the vehicle. The "knob" is a three way switch, the button portion is split with one half being off and the other being auto while the outside of the knob is manual fan speed. I never have to press anything for the air to start. Are you sure you're not accidentally turning it off?

Sorry, meant pressing the AC button, on panel with the hot and cold increase/decrease temperature buttons. I seldom use Auto mode. Before
switching off the engine, I would turn off climate control and press the AC
button again. Perhaps I am not using the AC controls correctly?

Hmmm, not sure about that. I never turn off the AC, just leave it in auto. One thing to remember, is that right after engine startup, there is a built in delay to the climate controls. I'd say my fan starts blowing from between 10 and 20 seconds after startup when the system is left in auto mode. Don't know if that delay is active for starting the climate controls from the off position.

Why do you turn it off (it's an automated climate control system)? I understand we used to turn them off in the old days when we just had on/off and how cold on the knobs, but with temperature sensing automated systems, there is really no reason I can think of to turn them off between uses.

I think I am pressing the AC button to quickly after start up. I will try and leave AC on Auto.
Thanks!

"Auto" in this Jeep works better than the 3 Infinitis, the Audi and the Commander I have owned before it. It's got a lot of really great tech...it just seems that you/we need to take a little time to get used to it.
