Re: Accuracy of Dealer Tracking Delivery?

My dealer told me when mine leaft te factory and updated me daily as to where it was. Made it fun to know she was sleeping in Tenn one night and in Jax the next. The delay came when the rail car arrived at the auto depot train lot, the "workers" there seem to have their own ideas about how and when to unload the train cars. No concern that MY BABY was among cars destined for a dealers lot - they do not know the meaning of ASAP - and I was told they are union so they do it their way. She sat at that railroad depot until Tuesday even thought she came into town the previous Friday.

I believe that a company that just comes out of bankruptcy and has a popular new vehicle should square with its customers and try to keep them up to date with accurate and honest information. Trying to keep me in the dark with broad brush generalities makes me wonder how they will handle future quality or recall issues.
Completely agreed and equally, if not more, frustrated.

Re: Accuracy of Dealer Tracking Delivery?

I will add this tidbit:

Yesterday I received a phone call from a high up customer service rep for Chrysler- I had called the cust service line on Monday the 20th, and they said they would "escalate" it. He informed me that my ordered vehicle attained KZ status, and I replied it was too late.

He was glad I still bought a Grand Cherokee, but I did bend his ear a bit about the frustration of seeing my vehicle just sit for 3 weeks. The rep also wanted to know my opinions of the dealerships (I was quite pleased with both of them), and he even said if I had a problem getting my deposit back to call him directly.

I think the folks high up and the folks dealing directly with customers are really trying, but many of the delays (which are just now being cleared out) seem to be the result of a perfect storm of circumstances compounded by general transportation difficulties.

I hope so. My Overland is suppose to be shipped on Oct 13. Originally was suppose to ship on September 27. I can't wait...my 99 Cherokee Sport is hanging on for dear life.

Re: Accuracy of Dealer Tracking Delivery?

I am glad I joined this website. My original order date was today. If I didn't know the date was that "estimated," I would be pretty mad right now. Luckily I read all of the others waiting for longer than me, and I realize I can't be pissed. It has only been about 4 weeks since ordering an Overland 4x4.
