Agree with you its not some critical have to have item I still have a great truck and like it very much but it would have been nice to know and make the decision to wait or not. I wasn't on a time table when buying maybe I would have waited a couple months.

Re: Adaptive Cruise Control Stop-go

Almost all auto makers make small tweaks almost on a quarterly basis. I know it sucks when you buy something, then the next day, the new and improved version comes out. I am ordering friday, and the day after I take delivery, I'm sure some new feature will be added. Oh well.

Actually, an auto maker will add features to an exiting model because they didn't have them ready when they early released the vehicle. At a certain point, they will not be adding features to this vehicle and all new features will go on the next model. It would have been nice to know what features were to be added to the existing model since, like others have said, many of us were not on a timeline and could have held off to purchase.

I have bought TWO of these $50K vehicles and I don't think I'll have the new ACC on either of them. I was not in a hurry to buy either of them....either.

It will be delivered next week.

Even if that one has the new ACC, it will just piss me off even more. That one is for my Mother-in-law who will NEVER, EVER use the feature. She wants me to drive it at first to break it in properly and that will piss me off even more (if it has the feature). If it was the same color as mine then I would offer to trade her.

It likely does... Sorry.

On the other hand you may get to try it out and realize you don't care? Maybe I am just being optimistic...

Something to take your mind off it: http://www.jeepgarage.org/f73/2014-d...tml#post871883

(not trying to patronize you either, I was actually disappointed they didn't include it initially as it was announced to be included on production then taken away and now back again)

You are probably right. If it does have it then I'll just see if I think it is really worth it and then probably do nothing about it since I can't really sell this one and buy a new one, LOL.

My Mother-in-law wanted to buy the V8 so she would have better resale value, LOL. She drives city streets only and even that is about 10 miles per day max. We managed to talk her into the V6 after she drove ours. The V8 would have been another feature she wouldn't have used, LOL.

No one should worry about future value on an option like that... even as a diesel buyer myself, you never count your chickens until the eggs hatch. If fuel Skyrockets, V8s will be cheaper than the V6s, if it increases gradually with time, people mostly won't care and the V8 will be worth more.

Enjoy your vehicle.... two months down the road you won't give two $h1t$ if it has stop and go. Trust me i used to get stuck on that kinda stuff, and ya sure it would be nice to have, but you will always have another opportunity to get another car!!

Exactly, we knew that the rear entertainment center was late availability on the GC and we could make the decision to wait or not wait for it. I did a lot of research for many months before purchasing and whether or not this type of change just "happens" sometimes doesn't mean it is right. What if SRT just decided to add another 60 horsepower mid model year unexpectedly. I bet that would strike a few nerves, point is different things are important to different people for different reasons. It is a given things can change a lot model year to model year so take your chances but inter model year they need to be a little more sensitive to dropping these unexpected functionality changes.

Re: Adaptive Cruise Control Stop-go

TBH It's not a major difference and some people would see it as a minor change, beneficial but still minor. It's very unlikely that resale value will change for 14 models without this feature. I have a funny feeling that "Auto Parallel Park" is just around the corner too..

Since it was already in the owner's manual at some point, you are probably spot on..

Re: Adaptive Cruise Control Stop-go

Glad I don't have to parallel park too much. But with the back up camera and the front sensor, it shouldn't be too hard.
