Just out of curiosity, is there a minimum speed for the ACC? More specifically, would it work for sitting in stop-and-go traffic to relieve the tedium of gas/brake/gas/brake?
And in a mostly-unrelated vein, has anyone looked into creating the "get off my tail" device which can send a "false" signal to a vehicle behind you that's using ACC to make it believe they're closer than they are and trigger it to back off further? Or the slightly more obnoxious, faking an image of a stopped vehicle that triggers the follower's accident mitigation to brake? :brows:
Never got it that low but great to know. I agree it's an awesome feature and I find myself using it anytime I get on the highway. I used it on the trip home from San Diego yesterday and since traffic was flowing the entire way, I never had to brake or make adjustments.
There were rumors about a full stop-and-go active cruise control before the MY14 was launched (Milous already posted it as feature) but they axed it - so I assume they are working on it. Maybe it will be ready for MY15.
Yeah, there was supposed to be stop and go on the Jeep, which would have been awesome. I would imagine they could do this with a software update? What other technology would there need to be equipped?
I would hope it's only a software update. It's a feature I'd love to have, although I would be fearful at first thinking of system failures and the jeep rear ending the car in front of me. I felt this way initially with the the adaptive cruise control and have gotten over giving the car that control.
Wonder if the stop and go will leave just enough space in front of you to be cut off routinely... so you end up always stopped with folks stuck behind you. Similar to the current system if you chose to use it in heavy traffic.
