Re: Adaptive Cruise Package

I planned to buy in July but my wife insisted on the ACC package which meant I couldn't order until Sep 18. I was initially somewhat upset at the additional wait before I could get my hands on my own WK2, but the wait was time well spent and I am glad I got it. If I was in your place I would do what I could to get the dealer to make it right and insist on some sort of compensation, but speaking for myself, I would not accept a WK2 without it, having driven with it and knowing what I know now.

Re: Adaptive Cruise Package

The ACC package is a "must have" in my opinion. I didn't think I would care about the blind spot monitoring for lane changes, but I freaking LOVE that feature! Bring a baseball bat. If your dealer messed up, break some knee caps!!!!

Re: Adaptive Cruise Package

Thanks to all for your input. I'll know more tomorrow when we can pull the build sheet and see exactly what happened. I am sure the dealership will make it right.

Re: Adaptive Cruise Package

I love the Adaptive cruise/advanced warning package. I had waited 16+ weeks for it. I say it's worth the wait.

Re: Adaptive Cruise Package

Sounds like I will be finding/ordering a new one with the ACC package on there for sure! I just hope the wait won't be as long this time.

Re: Adaptive Cruise Package

Don't accept it if it doesn't match your order! You have no obligation to accept it unless it's EXACTLY what you agreed to.

And I didn't think the ACC package was worth the wait until I drove it. The FIRST time on the highway I was sold!

And it was your 800-mile road test writeup that made me give it a closer look and ultimately go for it!

Re: Adaptive Cruise Package

I waited until the ACC package was available to place my order also, and am glad I was patient. The Collision Warning helps for those who get distracted by our iPhone. I don't get to use cruise control often, but the distance option is nice when on a road trip. The Blind Spot detection is terrific, and the rear Cross-Path is handy in a world full of parking lots with SUVs, cross-overs, pickups, and minivans.

I love gadgets, and these are actually useful. There are very few "false alarms" so I can't see any downside to this feature. The window sticker should have an "Advanced Warning and Adaptive Cruise Control" option ... bummer.

Re: Adaptive Cruise Package

The ACC is by far my favorite feature on my Jeep Overland. In fact it is the coolest thing ever added to a vehicle since I've been driving (many years ago).

I do dare say that it has made me a much safer driver. I find that I don't need to switch lanes nearly as often because I don't get annoyed when people ahead of me vary their speed up and down constantly. I use the cruise control 80% of the time on the freeway and I could never stand having to keep adjusting my speed because of the people ahead of me so I would change lanes to get around them. Now I sit back and relax and let the ACC take care of things for me.

To test it, I used it on the (San Francisco) Bay Bridge where the traffic speed goes from 65 to 35 and back up to 65. I never touched the brake or gas pedal once. I just followed behind the other cars and it followed the traffic perfectly. Of course, if there were no vehicles ahead of me it would have tried to go 65 through the whole curved section and I probably would have had a difficult time. So, it is no substitute for attentive driving but the system works flawlessly for me.

I had the collision detection warning light up and buzz once too. I do see the value of this if you ever get distracted. The blind spot detection in the mirrors is useful living in the city.

I would NEVER accept this Jeep if it didn't come with ACC and I had ordered it.

Re: Adaptive Cruise Package

I turned mine down today. The dealer started looking for another one, and worst case we have to order another one. With 4X4 on restriction, there is no telling how long this is going to take. If anyone knows where there is an Overland - Blackberry Pearl - 4X4 - HEMI - Saddle Interior - ACC Package - 430N - Pano Roof? At this point I think I would fly just about anywhere to avoid the whole order and wait ordeal.
