The Dealership allowed me to drive the first vehicle until a later build could be delivered with The Adaptive Cruise Control. No hassle, of course, my last five SUVs have been with this dealership.

I would not drive a vehicle without the Blind Spot Warning and other features included in the Adaptive Cruise Control Package.
Um .. yeah, there was a wait for ACC. But it's always been an option ordered separately except on the Summit. So I'm guessing that you ordered it but the vehicle arrived without it despite your order - which is pretty curious ... they usually just hold those orders until the parts become available.

Re: Adaptive Cruise Package

Has anyone tried ACC in stop and go traffic (SoCal - LA/OC/SD)? Does it work all the way to a stop?

Re: Adaptive Cruise Package

The rear cross-path detection is the part of the package that I like the best. It has saved me twice so far when backing out of a blind parking spot between 2 trucks or vans in a parking lot. Both times there were idiots flying down the lane in the parking lot doing over 30mph. If the rear cross-path hadn't done its thing and chimed I would have been hit for sure.

If there's one out there anywhere in the US, your dealer should be able to find it through their computer system. They're linked to the Jeep corporate inventory system and can see every vehicle on every other dealers lot in the country. If they tell you they can't, then go to another dealer who can.

Hmmm...maybe I'll get a new Jeep WK2 with ACC and have it drive me to work. I'll take shotgun.

just don't let the car that was in front of you turn the corner at a red light

I could get several tickets running red lights and stop signs, but the Jeep with ACC will look both ways and stop again if it senses cross path objects, preventing an accident.

Re: Adaptive Cruise Package

I drove all the way back from Detroit to Chicago only hitting the brake once for an ipass booth. I never had to touch a pedal otherwise.

that sucks. I like driving my cars, not the other way around.

I would never want or trust a computer to drive the vehicle for me. That mercedes commercial( I like this one - ) where the people fall asleep and are happy their car corrects their mistake makes me want to punch my tv. just my opinion though.

Re: Adaptive Cruise Package

I recently test drove a Summit, and with the speed below about 20 mph it was too slow to engage the ACC. So it wouldn't work in stop and go traffic. Unless you guys know something I don't know? The salesperson seemed to think it would not work either.
