Yes, if it uses the brakes, the lights come on.

Re: Adaptive Cruise package - get it or skip it?

After driving with the adaptive cruise control (along with the other features that come with it) for over a year, I now consider a package of this type to be "must have" for all future vehicle purchases.

I detailed one of my early experiences with the adaptive cruise contract in an earlier thread (see In Praise of the Adaptive Cruise Control)

Re: Adaptive Cruise package - get it or skip it?

Seems to be two camps. Have it, love it. Or Skip it,, don't need it. I skipped it, mostly the Jeep we wanted didn't have it. Overall we thought it was too expensive of a package. I also thinks it makes drivers complacent, relying on technology to drive. When I am driving, I am driving, not cruising, but actively driving. I use CC on long trips, but always head on swivel.
I also worry about the tech still working in a few years. I offroad in my Jeep, if the front bulb gets dirty scratched up, how effective will it be?
Do i wish I got it, sometimes. But 99.9% of the time could care less.

Well worth it. If you can afford it, buy it.

I love mine...wouldn't go back if I could. I use cruise control a lot and this is amazing. Also, the blind spot notification is super handy!

The two camps are

1) Have it and love it
2) Don't have it, don't know what they're missing.

Re: Adaptive Cruise package - get it or skip it?

I probably would have got it if I used cruise more. Like others said only on long trips I use it just to change foot positions. But it would be cool to have but I felt it was a waste for me. Plus the hero will be the wife's daily driver and she never uses cruise. I don't think she even knows how hahahhah

Now if it worked all the time to keep my wife from riding underneath the car in front of her then I would have ordered it in a heartbeat. I find myself "hitting te brakes" when in the passenger seat hahhhaha

That's exactly what it does, when it's turned on.

they might be talking about the forward collision warning. If that is turned on it will warn you that traffic is stopping and you could be about to rear end somebody with the word BRAKE! and a beeping sound on the evic. You have a choice of setting (near or far) I have mine on far.
You don't have to have the adaptive cruise on to have the forward coliison warning on. I also love the rear cross path detection. that has beeped at me a few times already when backing out of my driveway when cars are coming. Oh and the blind spot system is great just for that extra reassurance that there isn't a car in the lane next to you. I always look (thats just something i will always do), but then i also know if the little triangle isn't lit I'm good
