Adaptive Forward Lighting

I did a search, zero results.

I'm wondering for those of you with the AFL, how good does it work? I've had it in a couple of cars with mixed results, and I'm hoping to get some input about the '14 WK2. I do a lot of country twisty road driving at night, and this is a feature I'd be interested in having, one of a couple of reasons I'm considering a Summit over the Overland. I had a 2007 Infiniti M45 with AFL and the system was mediocre at best. My 2009 Cadillac CTS-V also had them and they were a vast improvement, allowing me to actually see through a corner fairly well.

Anyone?

Tony

I have only been out on country roads once since I got mine, and thought it worked fantastic. Bends in the road were so much easier than all the times I did it in my Liberty, and the automatic floodlights seemed to respond to oncoming traffic with ease.

Re: Adaptive Forward Lighting

It's awesome. We live out on a winding country road and the difference between this and my 2011 is night and day. (Pun intended).

Re: Adaptive Forward Lighting

I like it a lot. It works a lot more fluidly than the same system in my wife's Lexus RX.

JWS360 will become famous soon enough
Re: Adaptive Forward Lighting

Is the adaptive lighting system only on the Summit?

If so, that's too bad as I've essentially ruled out the Summit due to the limited and too dark for my tastes interior colors.

I've had a similar system on my BMWs & like it. It does nothing in more busy areas, but winding back or suburban roads are where it shines (pun intended!).

Re: Adaptive Forward Lighting

The one feature the Summit has over the Overland that I want. The chrome mesh and rims just didn't suit my taste.

Same here. If it wasn't for the body molding on the bottom and too much additional chrome, I would have opted for the Summit.

Re: Adaptive Forward Lighting

For JWS-
I had originally ruled out the Summit for the same reason; I generally like lighter interiors. But the Grand Cnyon Jeep Brown took me by surprise. Very rich, like expresso, but not as dark as I feared. Wound up with the Summit. Awesome looking.
