I never got around to swapping the mirrors, so I don't know whether or not the leads are in the door.

Just the glass. Harness and housing are stock. Is there a module in the door the harness originates from, or does it originate somewhere further inside? I'm just trying to figure out if the lead for the dimming feature is still in the harness somewhere even though the original mirror couldn't use it.

Re: Adding Auto-Dim Passenger Side Mirror to Limited

the complete harness is with the mirror housing and it plugs into a telematics box behind the door panel. The autodimming mirror has 2 plugs where your miror has one plug. You would have to build a harness with correct connectors and run it to the box. Just buy an autodimming mirror housing and install it. It was plug and play for autodimming on my Durango.

Re: Adding Auto-Dim Passenger Side Mirror to Limited

I can also confirm that I have added the "limited blinker Mirror" to my laredo X

I have not tried to have the turnsignals activated but the dimming function work on both miirrors

As Scott has stated inside the doors there is a black box called a Door Module it has the job of distributing power to all the accessoried the door there places to hold up to six plugs the other two spots are blanks.

So if you are looking to see if you can just swap the glass in the mirror you have to look in the housing and see if there is a white plug that has two black wires one which a red stripe the other with a blue strip.

If it is not there then you easiest bet is to buy a mirro with the harness in already....

I have a limited passenger side mirror for sale PM me if you want it.

Here are the part numbers:

57010705AH left side

Re: Adding Auto-Dim Passenger Side Mirror to Limited

Thanks for the info Jeep_Addicted. That whole mirror housing is pretty spendy. I may take a look at the telematics box first and determine if the leads needed to connect the harness can be added. I've got some hobbyist electronics building experience, so this might be fun...or frustrating. We'll see.

I doubt this, but maybe I can get just the harness somewhere. Probably not from Mopar I'm sure, but I might be able to at least find the connector for the mirror lead.

If anyone out there has a trashed passenger mirror with any of the wiring still intact feel free to hit me up. I might even be able to salvage what I need if part of it is still there.

Car part is a crap shoot too. I bought a mirror from LKQ crystal rivet and the mirror that sent me was in horrible condition I returned it for a refund... luckily I found a pair on eBay.... now I have a passenger s side I purchased earlier I could sell.
