Adding forward Parksense on Overland?

Wondering if anyone has tried to add forward Parksense to an Overland. Seems like it might be a simple add on, but, you never know.

Re: Adding forward Parksense on Overland?

I would Imagine it would be a lot harder and more expensive than you think.

would need new modules to see them and such.

Re: Adding forward Parksense on Overland?

I don't necessarily think that OEM parts, if even available, would be inexpensive. The function is soon to be available through Lockpick and adding a front license plate camera. That solution is somewhere near $500.

Re: Adding forward Parksense on Overland?

Futher to Front Parksense - so does the Overland have this or not? I've been reading through the manual and it talks about Front Park Sense as if it is available. Just go my GC last weekend, so wondering if this is something they added. Having said that, it doesn't pop up on the EVIC when I'm pulling into the wall in the parking lot. Thanks.

not_too_shabby has a brilliant future
I would love to have it on my overland. My wife's mercedes has it and I find it helpful in parking garages.

Re: Adding forward Parksense on Overland?

Just called Jeep Customer service - I guess the Overland only has the Rear Park Assist - ah well, not a huge loss. Thanks.

Re: Adding forward Parksense on Overland?

I would like to know the answer to this to. If it can be done (cheaply) i would definitley want to do this. Don't know why they only made this feature available on the Summitt.

BTW, the Summitt does not have a front parking camera, just the front sensors, correct?

Re: Adding forward Parksense on Overland?

Shhhhhh - The absence of front parksense is one of the things that makes my wife afraid to drive MY new GC when it arrives..... (I've been telling her how hard it is to manage the diesel.)

Sleeping dogs, etc.......

Correct, the Summit does not have a front parking camera. Would be an awesome feature. I test drove a BMW that had that. Not only could you see in front of you but it had cameras on the corners as well so if you were pulling out into a blind spot you could see if anything was coming. Really cool feature.

If I could have gotten the HK stereo and front parking sensors in the Overland, I would have purchased that instead of the Summit.

Re: Adding forward Parksense on Overland?

Guys & ladies if your out their, this is "F"ing unbelievable!! Just got our Cherry Red Overland expecting Front and Rear Park Sense and found out no Front Sensors!!!! Just joined the Garage Forum and this discussion.
After cursory reading as many of you obviously did I naturally was expecting it, with my Advanced Technology Package!!!
On top of that I've heard much of the technology in that package was licensed from BMW!?
It confounds me that I have been driving around in a 2003 BMW 530i with Park Sensing "FRONT and Rear"!!!!! Why in hell can't we have it on our 2014 Overland 11 years later???
In regards to retrofitting you would think that with the Uconnect Package that we are part way their??!! If not it is really unfortunate as it is a crime that it was not included!! I depend on it!!

Re: Adding forward Parksense on Overland?

Front parksense only came to the JGC recently and only at the Summit level.

Re: Adding forward Parksense on Overland?

Interesting.

As i understand, as i just got my overland 2 months ago the front sensors are available to the overland as an added option. The package you need to get i believe is the safety package which comes with the adaptive cruise control(eye in the middle of front fascia),blind spot mirrors that light up when their's a car in your blind spot and the front sensor. I was about to get one but didn't like the color options dealer had available. That and it was a couple grand more. Come to think of it should gone with the package that has the headrest TV's.

Someone correct me if i'm wrong on the package, but they are available.
