Re: ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY GROUP (ADG) any reason to get it? Lower insurance rate?

I'm in my late 20s, so I'm far from scared of technology. I've just never used this tech, and didn't want to blow $2000/$1500 on something I may rarely, if ever, use. For instance, not once have I ever used the rear seat TVs in two "fully loaded" SUVs I've owned. So both of those trucks had $2000 each tied up for something I gained no utility from. Thanks for all the responses guys.

Re: ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY GROUP (ADG) any reason to get it? Lower insurance rate?

Well then dont get it. Your the one that asked us if its useful and every single feature of that package is incredibly useful. I had the adaptive cruise/advanced warning package on my 2012 Overland and would never even think of getting another Overland without it. First reason because I love technology and gadgets. Secondly, because im buying a forty plus thousand dollar vehicle and its gonna be fully loaded. Third, because during the time I owned the Overland every single one of those features worked for me in some way or another. Blind spot monitoring was a VERY useful ALL THE TIME and was not intrusive whatsoever. Cross path detection warned me of a approaching vehicle coming while I was backing out of parking spots many times. And adaptive cruise control is just downright bad ass!!! (plus I use cruise control very often). IMO I dont know why someone wouldnt pay $1,500 for these options. You cant compare those features to back seat DVD players because those have nothing to do with the driver. I guess my point is I just dont see why someone would buy the latest and greatest advanced SUV but not get the features that make it "advanced". Like I already said, say 5 years down the road your trying to sell your basic Overland, I for one would not look twice at yours because you didnt get it with all the good stuff :-) Just get it, its $1500 bucks!

Do I sound like a condescending jerk or something? You and the admin on the previous page seem to be taking my comments the wrong way. I am open to the option, I just wanted opinions on its overall value to jeepgarage members. I thank all of you who offered your opinion on the option.

Well you're going to have to wait for those "pimp my ride" dual monitors. Looks like they won't be available until late July. I too am in my 3rd year of my late 20's!

I would love it if they would just put the blind spot mirrors that my fusion have on every vehicle that doesn't have blind spot detection. If I am paying enough attention I really don't even have to look over my shoulder because they take away 99 percent of the blind spot, my wife was actually kind of bummed they won't be coming on her jeep.
