Advice

I've got a persistent CEL about once a month. Usually the code is for an evap leak but no leak has been found after multiple trips to the dealer. Once it was for a body control module error which the dealer said was bogus. Well the light is back and I'm fed up. I've spoken with Crysler and got the usual "take it to the dealer" response. I need to do something or I'm gonna lose it. Anyone have any advice on how to proceed. This is my first car with these types of issues and I have no experience with this. Thanks.

Re: Advice

Have you lodged a formal complaint (and received a case file number) from Chrysler Customer care yet?

Yes I have, but it seems they are placing all the responsibility on the dealer. Of course, the dealer is clueless. So i have no idea what to do.

Re: Advice

have the gas cap checked. sometimes if it don't seal tight, it will trip a cel. if they ran smoke thru the system and didn't find it, then it may be that the gas cap is faulty. remember the gas tank is pressurized

Had that the other day on my 2014 limited. Dealer cleared the code tested it and said everything was ok. Hope its not the same problem as yours. Sorry I cant give any advice. My dealer is 5 minutes from my house so I will just keep taking it back if it keeps happening.

Absolutely!

Service managers need to bring in money to their department. Smart ones don't care where the car was purchased.

True. It appears to me to be 2 blades that get pushed aside by the nozzle. It's the reason Jeep supplies a funnel in case you need to add gas from a can. The funnel neck is long enough to open the the passage.

Re: Advice

My only advice is the same as zhenya's: try a different dealer.

Or "lose it". Your choice.

If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always gotten.
