I've got a persistent CEL about once a month. Usually the code is for an evap leak but no leak has been found after multiple trips to the dealer. Once it was for a body control module error which the dealer said was bogus. Well the light is back and I'm fed up. I've spoken with Crysler and got the usual "take it to the dealer" response. I need to do something or I'm gonna lose it. Anyone have any advice on how to proceed. This is my first car with these types of issues and I have no experience with this. Thanks.

I had many issues with the Jeep dealerships in my area, most recently asking to have TSBs implemented. When I called Chrysler Customer Care and received a case number, I got them to recommend a dealership in my area for me...they even called the dealership ahead of time warning them I'd be coming.

Everything went smooth after that.

have the gas cap checked. sometimes if it don't seal tight, it will trip a cel. if they ran smoke thru the system and didn't find it, then it may be that the gas cap is faulty. remember the gas tank is pressurized

Had that the other day on my 2014 limited. Dealer cleared the code tested it and said everything was ok. Hope its not the same problem as yours. Sorry I cant give any advice. My dealer is 5 minutes from my house so I will just keep taking it back if it keeps happening.

Have you folks had the recall to tighten up the alternator ground yet?

I haven't gotten a round tuit in having the upflash done, but I had the goofy MIL and evap sensor a couple times. The tech was used to "jeep cable tightening standards" and tightened up all the heavy cables just as a matter of course and it hasn't come back since.

Isn't there also a failure mode in the purge system that can trigger this, where it actually is a bad part?
