Curt is really good. They're an all American brand and they use good quality products. If you're looking at finding a retailer that sells Curt hitches, you should try Hitchweb. I got my hitch from them and got it in 1 day. They also offer free shipping on orders over $100. I just checked their website to grab the link and noticed they have free shipping on Fridays! Here is their link:
Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailer Hitches Just click on your year and it will give you hitch options.

Hope this helps!

I believe so.
It's got enough 'flex' to absorb small impacts from road crap.

Like I said, it's been at least 3 winters since I put the Curt hitch on my wife's RAV4 (V6 with 3500lb towing, nice!) and I haven't seen any rust on it. We've seen similar year RAV4s with aftermarket hitches covered with rust.

Make sure you sand the original paint with some high grit sandpaper to rough it up so the liner material sticks, Walmart used to sell black or white spray cans of the stuff, but I haven't been able to find it lately, so the next best thing would be to buy a small can of the Herculiner stuff.
