Aimless and happy

Sometimes I just want to drive. Doesn't matter where so much, but it is important to be behind the wheel without a necessary destination. Nothing I have to do, nowhere I have to be. In my teens it was just from one joint to the next, seeing my friends doing the same. Some of that remains, rare as it is to have the time. I had forgotten how good that aimless movement felt until just going from here to there reminded me. I like driving around in my Jeep. Do you know what i mean?

I do find myself doing that as well. I also for some reason take the long way and head out a bit earlier than I should to reach my destination. I used to do it a lot in university where I'd finish class and just drive around aimlessly (it wasn't so much the vehicle but just more theraputic as silly as that sounds).

I don't get much time now because of work and my hectic schedule. However, weekends I'm barely ever home. Even when I have no plans, I'm usually behind the wheel with a big stupid grin on my face!

I drive several hundred miles per week for work, but somehow still manage to find time just to get behind the wheel and go wherever. I love driving my WK2.

You have go to love the therapeutic sessions of just aimlessly cruising. Even when I drove tractor trailers for a living, I'd still manage some time to just get out and drive. I too sometimes leave earlier and "take the scenic route" just to help unwind. Or taking a little longer back road route home from work just to clear my head and just enjoy the drive.

Yup, you can definitly add me to the aimless driver list. Milk run, strange craving, no reason at all - you name it and it's been used as an excuse to jump behind the wheel :)

... speaking of which, I think I need to go get my headlight fluid checked. BRB.

Been doing the 'drive to relax' thing for decades, but the WK2 puts that hobby into a new league. Good to know there are others with the same idea.
