Air conditioning defaults to on, when Jeep is started?

Hi Guys!

I have a 2012 GC Laredo without climate control. It looks as though the A/C always defaults to on when the vehicle is started? Is this normal? It does this even when the cabin temperature is set at warm. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

How do you mean? It's always in the last position I left it on mine.

So I'm assuming that you are using defrost when you shut the vehicle off?

I used my defrost for the first time on the weekend, and this if the first vehicle I have driven that it didn't automatically turn on the a/c. Well at least the ac light didn't light up. I tried hanging my head out the window to try and hear the a/c compressor kick in, but I couldn't tell. I have the base climate control.

Is this normal?
