Air Conditioning Problem

I have had my 11 limited 4 x4 since June and my air conditioning has stopped working twice...The fan is running but very little air is coming from the vents and the temperature of the air is cool but not cold. First time it happened on a Sunday and when the vehicle was started the next morning everything worked fine. I thought it was a fluke so didn't think anymore about it. Happened again this past weekend same scenario working fine and then fan is running but very little air is coming from the vents. I had about 3 hours of a very hot car. Of course I started it again on Monday morning and it worked great!!! Service guy told me to come in the next time it happens so it can be checked but I know it will wait until I am on a trip. The other times it has stop working have been on 2 hrs plus trips. Has anyone else had this experience? Or do you think I should push the service dept to evaluate it and fix the issue? Thx for you help in advance

Re: Air Conditioning Problem

What's your build date on it? (check inside the driver's side door). If it's a 5.7, there was a big flash update that addressed a bunch of issues, including air conditioning not cooling enough. If your car was built before April, it might just need this. Update is 18-035-11. I'd print out a copy, linked below, and take it with you to the shop.

Re: Air Conditioning Problem

check your fuses bud. That happened to me. The air conditioner would be working fine then it would sound like it was just blowing in the dash and not coming out of the vents; quickly resulting in a hot cabin. You could hear the system running; but it wasn't cooling. I opened up the fuse box under the hood and the one that controls the HVAC was loose. I pushed it down, it clicked, and it's worked since. Must have been a loose connection causing the system to hiccup or something.

Re: Air Conditioning Problem

I know in the manual it talks about when you turn the heat on it will only start out low till the temp gets high enough so its not full bore cold air blasting at you. Maybe the same for the ac and somethings screwy?
