Re: Air conditioning thoughts?

My Honda Pilot had spherical vents that you could rotate or orbit in any direction. It was much better than my WK2's square vents that are fairly limited directional range and pumped a lot more air. The Jeep's vents are nicer looking and take up less space though.

Re: Air conditioning thoughts?

Mine works fine. I set it between 68* and 70*. If I am getting to cold, I go to 70*. If I am getting to hot, I go to 68*. Most of my miles are highway, but I do several days a week in town driving as well. Been in the 100s since I bought the jeep. It will be interesting to see how it works in the spring and fall.

BTW, the wife sets her side at 74*-75* and is happy with it. When she gets out, I simply synch the two to get my preferred settings.

I have had climate controls on several vehicles. They take some getting used to because they act like your house system rather than the more traditional car systems where you control the output. IMHO, the Jeep system works fine, but I have not had it through 4 seasons.

Re: Air conditioning thoughts?

After having a few leaks taken care of the system has worked pretty well for us so far. We don't get the persistent high heat and humidity here in MA but when it's been warm the AC does a decent job. Only thing I notice is that we get large water puddles under the vehicle when parked...but we have not had any drain issues.

Re: Air conditioning thoughts?

Just chiming in, no complaints here on the AC, in hot/humid South FL. I thought I was a glutton for punishment in getting the black leather interior, but the GC's AC keeps it nice and cool; I keep the auto temp between 73-75 all the time.

Just last week, a couple of my coworkers were noting how comfortable the GC was when I drove to lunch. They drive newer Audis/VWs and are less than impressed with the AC in their cars.

Re: Air conditioning thoughts?

My AC works alright (3.6L) but not as good as the little tacoma I traded it in for but better than my Chevy truck. That little tacoma would freeze you out of there.

Re: Air conditioning thoughts?

I have an 2012 Overland 3.6 in Southern California. The AC works, but I've noticed it's not as strong as in some other cars (for example - my Infiniti G37). Just my opinion - but wanted to share.

Re: Air conditioning thoughts?

My Overland's AC works well. I have tinted the WS and front windows... really helped. AC was okay before, but better now. Not as good as the Toyota RAV4 I used to own which could have used as a meat locker when AC was on full.
