Air Recycle

Is it normal in the '14 Overland, that the recycled button doesn't lock out outside air at all? Going behind a polluting truck, I smell the bad exhaust on several occasions.

The heat is acting weird too. After heating up strong for a while it goes weak and no matter how you up the temp, it does not heat up. On other occasions, it would blow strong hot air at a stop. I'm wondering if somehow the heat behavior is related to fresh air leakage.

thanks.

The recirculate on vehicles today doesn't completly block out all air...but this doesn't mean there couldn't be an issue with your vehicle. You may want to get it checked out as there could be something blocking the vent door from closing all the way.
Also as far as the heat working great and then not working so well...is it in "auto mode".....if it is...once it has warmed the vehicle to the set temp the heat will automattically taper off and not put out as much heat. Thats my experience with the system in my 2011 JGC....just my two sense...hope it helps.
