Air suspension vs Regular springs

I'm debating a loaded Limited (Lux II, Tech, Tow) vs. Overland with Tech. Invoice price difference is $2900. V6 in either.

Most of that extra $$$ must be the Overland's air suspension. I'm interested in your opinions comparing the air to the regular ON THE ROAD. I have no interest in off roading but will be towing a 3,000# camping trailer.

Also, are there likely to be added maintenance issues with the air suspension?

Thanks.

Re: Air suspension vs Regular springs

There may be added mainentance issues down the road ... But that's what an extended warranty is for if you plan on keeping it for a long time.

I love the way my QL rides. Feels great.

So there are other niceties associated with going with the Overland. You get the upgraded leather seating surfaces, the power liftgate and the panoramic sunroof is only available on the Overland and Summit for 2014.
I have had my 2011 Overland for almost 2 years and have logged 40,000 miles on it without a single issue with the air suspension. That being said I would have been perfectly happy with the Limited and almost bought a limited until I found another dealer who made me a great deal on my Overland.

Do we know for certain that the Chrysler extended warranties cover the air suspension system? I did not see it listed on the covered parts.

Max care lifetime covers quadralift. Can't believe I almost ordered a 4x2 Summit. Quadralift is definitely my favorite feature and the ride is awesome . Best highway cruiser I've ever been in.

The panoramic sunroof is 'available' on the Limited.
The power liftgate is 'available' on the Limited and Laredo E

Correct on this. You get some of the features of an Overland on the Limited with Lux II package.

The leather is of the same quality in the Limited and Overland if you get the Limited with Lux II ... Just no Overland badge

Didn't realize that the Lux II package added all this. So then in essence the difference in2014 is just the Quadralift and different fascia. In that case I'd advise you to ride in the two to determine which you like better. Keep in mind that if you are serious about any off-road adventures that you can feasibly add a body lift to the Limited far easier than any lift to the Overland in theory and definitely cheaper if even possible.

Either way I think both are great vehicles and it is a matter of opinion

Re: Air suspension vs Regular springs

Thanks so far.

The Lux II package includes many of the features standard on the Overland. I believe Overland (over Lux II plus tow plus nav) gets you quardalift air suspension, 20" wheels, different interior colors, extra minor interior features.

I don't care much about any of the extra stuff except maybe the air suspension. A plus for the Overland plus tech is that it would be a lot easier to find in dealer stock than a Limited the way I want it.

Re: Air suspension vs Regular springs

Because there are so many things that come with one and not the other, unless you add this and take away that ... and jump up and down three times at midnight,

I suggest you go to WK2Jeeps.com and do a little research. Milous has put together the most comprehensive list of features, options, and specs that I have seen anywhere. Know what's available and what you really want, or what you at least want to look at, before making a decision.

Limited with LuxII doesn't get a leather dash or leather at the top of the doors, and it has plastic faux wood rather than real wood applique. Overland also has piping on the edge of the seats, not that that's a big deal but is a nice touch.
