Some lenders actually do "require" you to purchase it before you do a third party sale. But there are loopholes that are very easy to go through. I've never ran into that issue though. And carmax and dealerships don't count as those third party sales. You can always trade it in to them.

Re: All Chrysler Leasing Changed Today

If there is positive equity in the lease at the end of the term it means you paid too much to rent the vehicle. I understand your objective with lease to buy, but if your leasing to just lease again later, I'd rather have as much negative equity as possible.

I have also confirmed at least in the NY/NJ/CT area Chrysler is still offering at least $1750 in IDL cash on a 2014 if you use somebody other then Chrysler Capital. With the higher rates now charged by Chrysler I think finding a good IDL is really the way to go.

Re: All Chrysler Leasing Changed Today

I've been leasing for years and I know I've probably gotten hosed almost every time. I go in all prepared and fall hook, line and sinker - I have a lot of knowledge about cars and salesmen get taken back at first (I'm a chick lol) but then the tables get turned.

My lease is up soon and I'm looking at leftover 2013s and you'd think I'm asking about an SRT with some of the prices I've been quoted.

I think someone with awesome negotiating skills should open up a business...I know I'd pay a fee to have someone negotiate for me lol.

No. I just leased through Chrysler's new leasing company. To turn in vehicle at end of lease the processing fee is $395. To buy at residual price at end of lease, the processing fee is $350. Either way they get you, but at least it is not too much.

I think you can still get a lease through them, just like through us bank. They just aren't the primary one that the dealership first looks at. Might not have the best rates.
