Re: All day Sunday Cleaning

thank you for the tips. one of the secondary reasons i wax my car is that i occasionally take it off road, which results in the infamous pin stripes on the side from branches, etc. My current car is a bit old, so this really hasn't bothered me. Do you think your current solution would hold up well, or would you recommend a different approach given my needs?

Is this really the sequence you are using? If so, your polish application is just removing the wax that you applied.

The polish is actually a gloss enhancer to give it a shine after the waxing, it does not remove the wax, or at least that's what the company told me.

I am no expert in detailing, I just do a lot of research, I found these products thru research online, they seemed the easiest to apply and had good reviews, I will tell you that I have been using the Duragloss products for a year now, since the purchase my Overland and I have not seen any swirl marks or light scratches in the finish after a year of washing. I have owned three black vehicles and always had some swirl marks after the first year. I don't know if these products would protect against scratches from trees, but it sure has keep me from getting the nasty swirl marks that black finishes are known for.

Re: All day Sunday Cleaning

I use Meguiar's polish and wax about three times /year. It does a great job and is easy to apply and buff out. If you get it on the black plastic trim it can be a PITA to remove.

I haven't polished the painted rims yet because the book says not to. I'm still up in the air on that, but if I'm going to do it, it had better be soon, before dirt gets stuck on. Any opinions?

Re: All day Sunday Cleaning

Good work!
That's what I do on November & April sunday afternoons during the cool weather.
After using McGuires for many years, I'm currently using their newest stuff as well as their detail spray.
I use Zaino Brothers on the truck but it shows boo-boos in the paint & body while it's shining really good.
