Almost 3 mos for factory Part?

Hi all,

Newbie here with a couple of questions...

first one is about a part...I'll try to keep this long story short...

I brought my '14 GC in to the dealer back in May (almost 3 mos agao) due to a fuel filling issue. I cannot fill the tank more than about 1/4 without the auto shut off setting of the fuel filler. Basically I can't fill the tank.

Dealer takes it in, changes the charcoal canister, asks that I keep an eye on it and let him know if the issue continues. Called service manager back 3 days later letting him know that the issue still exists. SM tells me that he will order a new fuel filler neck.

Anyway, I've called twice in the last couple months and am told that the part is still on backorder.

Has anyone else experienced this particular issue (Fuel filling)? How long should I have to wait for a new part? 3 mos seems like a very long time...

Anyway, thanks in advance for any advice

I do not have that issue with either my '14 or '15, but I am waiting for a new HK amp for the stereo as they think mine might be defective. Thy say that's also on back order. No clue as to when it will come in.

The words national back order seems to go hand and hand with jeep parts, get used to it it seems to be the norm with this manufacturer. this is my first Chrysler product and I have never seem such a wide variety of parts shortages before. be glad your jeep is not sitting idle for weeks like folks here with water pumps on back order. good luck

It's the norm for nearly every manufacturer. I have a friend with a F150- same thing. Another has a Tundra- yep, more back order. Subaru? Been there and done it myself. Even my Kawasaki had a valve cover gasket on back order with no ETA. It's the new way to do business I guess. Stock is money on a shelf.

Yeah every manufacturer has a back order once in a while nothings perfect that's life. I have just never seen as many as this one has, of course I've never had a new vehicle in the shop as much as this one either lol

You never had a Subaru, eh? lol
It can be frustrating, for certain. I was worried they were going to say my rack was on back order.
