Re: Almost got a new car

I'd really just recommend you test drive one, see if you can take it overnight. I had a 14 Overland Hemi and now a 15 Overland Pentastar V6. I like the Hemi more but that's personal preference. Dealer support most definitely does suck. I wouldn't say reliability is too big of an issue. My 14 was completely flawless, 15 has had a few small issues but nothing too bad.

Family member has a 15 limited V6, i like it a lot but the transmission hiccups kill the driving experience thats what leads me toward the V8. Dealer support is a legit reason to steer away from the JGC, thats a shame because i truly think its a nice product.

Re: Almost got a new car

I've had my 14 Altitude for 21k miles now and can honestly say I've never felt hesitation or hiccup with my trans. My wife's Q5 is by far more jerky but that's a combination of the 8 spd trans and the turbo.

She really likes how my Jeep drives but she had a Chrysler product in the past and vows never to go back.
Coming from European cars myself it's mind-boggling how the Jeep service departments are run.

Almost got a new car

My 15 V6 thankfully functions smooth. 1-2 when cold is weird but I can deal. The only issue is that it won't use 8th gear at 79mph+. I can use the paddles to get in 8th and it'll stay but it won't shift into it on its own. At this point in time, there's still a ton of 2015s on lots all over, I'd pick up a Summit V8.

Shockwave will become famous soon enough
Re: Almost got a new car

Do all these problems and the dealer knowing the history affect the trade in value? I would just trade the thing in or sell it with that many problems.

Honestly if the tranny went in the first month I would have probably gotten rid of then and taken a loss.
