I agree with OP. I find the needles to be difficult to see during the day with sunglasses on. I think the decision to put the red stripe on them wasn't the best idea. I have not tried non-polarized glasses, but I don't think it would make much difference. I also find the steering wheel to be in the way of the upper portion of the gauges when I put it in the most comfortable/natural/appropriate position for me.

I miss the gauges from my E90 330i, but the EVIC mitigates the problem.
