'14 Summit Hemis here are as low as $45k and diesel is $47k.

For $42.7K I'd be close to buying one of those even in Cashmere Pearl or White. Those are great prices on old stock 2014's. That's very close to $6K under the best quote I've received for a 2015 V6 Summit 4x4. I realize I'm comparing 2014 to 2015 but wow those are crazy deals.

Actually, all of Koons' prices are better than anything I've seen around here in NorCal and I can't believe Koons has 32 Summits listed; far more than any dealer I've seen out here in all of CA or the western region.

Re: Amount off MSRP for 2014 Summit???

I finished high school on the SF Peninsula and long after I was gone he retired, but went up to Portlandia area to buy his GMC 2500. He saved a lot but said it was a nuisance to being in out of state purchase. He might have registered it in Utah as he owned my grandfathers house. In this area many head to Florida for used vehicles an most avoid Jeep dealers here like the plague. A few new ones have popped up but slimy dealers leave bad tastes in people mouths forever. .

I just want to say thanks to the last few post for actually looking for 2014 summits around $42k. Had some idiot not believe me earlier that those deals are out there! I guess he's some trained dog not negotiating deals in this world when there is obviously room for it!

Of course he was first to judge me on fabricating the truth!

You even provided the link so it was as easy as clicking on it and checking it out. Like I said, that kind of price is to the point where I almost wouldn't care what color the rig was knowing you are saving that much $$ off the top.

Lots of disagreeable folks this time of year. Forums can be tricky at times but benefit of doubt should be given. We are all here to learn a bit each day.

Good old naive Canadian here...
This thread has my interest piqued regarding dealing DOWN from INVOICE.
I know there's likely consumer suspicion about invoice, so I searched it up:
What does the invoice price mean? - Ask.cars.com
How can a dealer deal DOWN from what they pay for a product?

PS (aside from diesels, which it seems the dealers are desperate to move, and the mfr is rebating).

MDH doesn't give year. Fair chance the "Date of Mfr(Built):" in upper left corner of drivers door sticker says "08-13" so you are probably right. I imagine the only way that's possible tho at a high volume dealer like Koons is if it was an old dealer trade or a less desirable config....

How's it going up there in the cold, eh?

Simple answer to your question is the invoice number is the invoice cost to the dealer BUT the dealer is also given money such as dealer hold back and they get manufacturer bonuses for meeting certain sales goals (hence they may be desperate to sell a vehicle at the end of the month to meet the goal if they are behind and hence will take a loss on a few vehicles to get a huge bonus). There are other factors too... While the invoice price is the same for every dealer the incentives for each dealer is different.

Re: Amount off MSRP for 2014 Summit???

I would love to trade in my 2011 Limited. Solid ride but even with a thousand less mileage getting raped by a dealer isn't for me I drive so little these days it just makes sense to lease. To many sensors and modules that make keeping a unit without lifetime coverage financial suicide. I
Like Jeeps and how they are designed to work but can't think the parent company gives a rats ass about it buyers. It's not the first company stuck in whoa is me mode. Ford is sort of in this slump now as Toyota tries to get out of that trap. In the end I just don't see the bastard product of Daimler-Benz and FIAT with Chrysler intermixed coming out a winner. It's too bad as it could be a great product but skimping on basics dooms the buyer to always question the purchase. I know I have every time there is a recall letter from Chrysler motors. 3 this pass 12 months and you need to police the dealers not to mess this up. Way more hassle than it's worth. I'll convert to a Nissan people mover or a Durango with s much lower MSRP and first 28 month depreciation. The Jeep WK2 is a beautiful machine with great options unfortunately the skimped on everything possible and it shows in the recalls. The latest fuel relay system is just unacceptable. After all we are talking about the safety of our families abs the dealers act like you are ruining their groove. No way to treat customers. If I buy Jeep again it certainly won't be in NY.
