Amount off MSRP for 2014 Summit???

Looking at a Summit, trying to decide between a 2015 and a 2014....a dealer near me has a 2014 listed for 57K+ (chrome edition) and has agreed to 5.6 under invoice. Fair deal??? I think there is more to be had. Any thoughts?

Re: Amount off MSRP for 2014 Summit???

Always shoot for % off invoice less available incentives. MSRP should never be your starting point. For example, the group buys here are typically 5-7% off invoice. An affiliate code will auto magically get you 1% below invoice less available incentives and almost anybody can get that with either an employer or affinity group membership these days!

I'd be pushing pretty hard on the price of a MY14 at this point...MY15 has been in production since June and on dealer lots since late summer.

Re: Amount off MSRP for 2014 Summit???

I was considering the same thing in August. My '15 Summit V8 got down to just under $62K (Canadian) after negotiations. Avoiding the bugs alone of the '14s was reason enough for me to pay the extra 10% when you're going to spend that much.

To me $57K doesn't seem like a great deal...

I've been looking at the Summit for a few months now. Here in the SF Bay Area, prices are literally all over the map when I look at quotes I'm getting from dealers. No doubt the biggest deals right now are on the 2014 models, with some dealers discounting 4x4 Summits nearly $10K, but then others are still asking full MSRP.

I've had a number of dealers tell me right off the bat they are cutting $5K off all 2014 Summits and one said $5K off ANY Summit including 2015. Like some say here, it's best to work up from invoice and not down from MSRP.

I haven't seen very many aggressive deals on 2015 Summit models, and they are in scarce supply around here in NorCal. About the best I've seen so far on a 2015 Summit is 2.5 to 3% under invoice.

Re: Amount off MSRP for 2014 Summit???

I picked up a 15 Summit CDR with Rear Seat BluRay, block heater and Cali package for just under $55k. Went thru the Costco program. I feel thats a fair price. no negotiating with the sales man. I was in and out of the dealership in less then 30 mins. The jeep just shipped from the factory and hopefully it will be here by xmas.

Excuse my ignorance, but what does the Costco discount work out to... and I assume all dealers honor it

Re: Amount off MSRP for 2014 Summit???

I got my 2014 Summit built to order and picked up the first week of April for net 6% under invoice inclusive of dealer fees but not tax/title. Doesn't sound like you are getting a great deal as you should be able to get THAT deal on a 2015 instead.

Re: Amount off MSRP for 2014 Summit???

Just to clarify - my 2014 Summit 4x4 V8 was just a few dollars under $56K for MSRP and I paid inclusive of dealer fees a bit under $50K. I would think the deal you were quoted should be used to buy 2015 (which would be a fair deal for a 2015) but for a 2014 I'd want a lower price. I am not sure what you mean by the "chrome edition" 2014 though....

To be clear, we're saying "work down" from invoice, not "up"...

Re: Amount off MSRP for 2014 Summit???

My local dealer still has a 2014 4x2 Summit for sale.

It has an MSRP of $53,180 and is listed at $46,298 - so $6,882 below MSRP. I'm sure that one could get an even better deal on that vehicle.

It's a 4x2 HEMI - a very strange combo....
