Picked up a cherokee back in April, ran great. Dealer did a minor service and decided to flash the tranny after I told them not to. 3 days later it turned into a nightmare! being in another KL forum, Usually the result is months of headache, getting stranded, and a couple trannys replaced... I just said Nope, not for me.
So, I'm back in a WK2.. shoulda never sold my old one!

What a shame about the tranny flash on the KL Jeepster. They should've listened to you.

Our KL CRD has never been flashed (the R01+ flashes don't apply because it is the 2.0l diesel engine) but I noticed that Milous did post a TSB that referred to the tranny a while back for the export 2l but I have never bothered because it shifts very very well.

Can't argue with the Overland though. We have one of those as well. :D

Both vehicles are fantastic.

I agree with the KL an excellent vehicle...had the TrailHawk. If you can, avoid the flash, for most it works...Well for mine and many others...not so much. For most with the acting wonky after flash, led to replaced trannys (yes more than one) eventually would take a hit and trade, or get lucky enough to get a buyback or lemon law... I'll watch over the next few years and see if they fix them for good...would buy another one then.
For now... learning to love the WK2 again:thumbsup:
