That is your contract. I searched my contract for the word "Florida" and all I got was this...

Note: The oil and oil filter change benefit is not subject to regulation by the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation.

...which implies that the rest of contract is subject to regulation.

I think things have changed between your contract and mine (?). I got mine 48 hours ago.

Re: ANFSCD: Maxcare in Florida

So...... I am in Florida. I want to buy a discounted Mopar service contract. I do not have another home out of state but I have children in Georgia, Illinois, California. Does anyone have a plan for me to follow? It read all the above posts and my head is swimming in the murkiness.

Easy...just use one your children's addresses when buying your mopar warranty. Try each of the three states to see which is cheaper. ...Mopar Vehicle Protection Plans | Chrysler Factory Plans

They mail the contract to that address, but they email you the same contract. After about a month or two, simply update your address to Florida (as if you moved) Or don't. It actually makes no difference since you can get your warranty claims ay any FCA service department in the country.

Re: ANFSCD: Maxcare in Florida

Just be aware that if you buy with an out of Florida address, the one time transferability required by Florida law may not apply.

Even if that is true, the same work around still applies. They too could use an out of state address if they have one (then 'move' back to Florida a month or two later)

To save $800 to $1500, its worth that problem.

If you buy from an out of state discount seller the one time transferability required by Florida law will not apply! So that really doesn't make a difference at all, but the service contract will be honored at any FCA dealer and permanently attached to your VIN regardless!

Not sure what you mean with 'one time tramsferability required by Florida law' because all MaxCare warranties are transferable for $50 (one time only). Unless you are referring to Lifetime warranty which is not normally transferable, except maybe Florida.

The Max Care is always transferable one time, regardless of state (transfer fee may vary slightly)

You sure about that?? Were talking about lifetime maxcare service contracts, that's what the OP started this thread about, right?

They used to be only transferable by law in Florida or NC only, and only if purchased in one of those states from an authorized FCA dealer!

Hmm. Why would you assume we were talking about Lifetime when the vast majority of MaxCare warranties are mileage/term. I guess many think the Lifetime is too expensive when they will probably will sell their car within 5 years/100K.

It's not an assumption...the person who started this thread asked specifically about the Lifetime contract.

Re: ANFSCD: Maxcare in Florida

Yes, we are talking about LIFETIME only.... And the transferability of it for Florida residents if bought from an out of state seller. And if Florida dealers MUST charge the high rate saying it is regulated when it is not.

So, it is clear that the price is NOT regulated by the State of Florida per padgett. It is also clear that if someone out of state sells you a LIFETIME it must be transferable if you are a Florida resident (on your application with Florida address, etc.).

HOWEVER, that brings it back to square one --- like what happened to me with my 2011. Jeep wouldn't honor the transferability. Could I have pushed them, gotten a lawyer etc. Probably. But wasn't worth the hassle at the time and got prorated refund instead. It still bothers me though that misinformation is still going around despite Florida's laws/regulations.
