Far as I can tell, the only way to deal with it is to bring it to the dealer -- something to do with the pano roof and inadequate adhesive. I think they have to take apart at least a portion of the headliner.
I plan on making an appointment to have this done sometime this month.
That should save some time on mine. I've got the creak and the headliner wiring recall. At least they can do it all at once.

I had the same and it was the plastic shroud that covers the hole lift gate inside ,so I just pulled it off and packed in some stuff . Sorry I can't seem to remember what you call the white soft fabric they use in speaker boxes my memory has gone blank , but it was also rattling in the plastic shroud that goes around the entire window inside the lift gate so I packed that as well and now I have no rattles what so ever :-)... My car is the 2014 SRT I can't see what your car is Pinetar it's not listed in your profile ..

Re: annoying creaking noise for rear passenger interior

I started to have a very bad rattle on the rear driver seat pano-sunroof corner. Its very annoying. I put my fingers in the corner and the noise stops. I seen people complain on this sight from 2009. I cannot believe that in 7 years Chrysler could not make a permanent fix for this bull----! One would think on a 2014 Summit it would have been resolved. I think this is my last first and LAST Jeep. Way to many problems on my car and most unresolved.

Re: annoying creaking noise for rear passenger interior

You do realize that the 2009 and 2014s are two very different animals, right? You can't expect all the fixed problems from one generation to transfer to the next, its a whole different design. Thats like expecting a puppy to be house-trained and well mannered immediately after birth because you spent the time training it's father.

There are a few bad apples, but overall, most have few to no problems with their Grand Cherokee. If you are here to discuss your problem, by all means, lets discuss. If you are here to vent and tell us "off" by doing nothing more than stating "this is my first and last Jeep," please don't, go tell it to someone who cares.

I don't mean that in a mean way, I am just letting you know that we are willing to help if you are willing to help yourself. Walking into a Jeep Forum and stating you're never going to buy another is like walking into a Minnesota Vikings bar and talking loudly about how terrible they are and how you'll never be a fan again. Not very inviting for people to help you.

Re: annoying creaking noise for rear passenger interior

Prob already checked, but my rear license plate rattled on speed bumps, etc. I added some rubber tape on back. Helped a bunch.

For the longest time the Minnesota Vikings were just like a stolen car - no title.
