annoying creaking noise for rear passenger interior

I've started to notice a "creaking" from somewhere in the rear, passenger side in my '14 JGC srt. it happens mostly when going over bumps, either in the road or when pulling into a driveway slow. It's getting really annoying. Anyone else notice this?

Re: annoying creaking noise for rear passenger interior

I found mine to be coming from the sunroof, and possibly also the tailgate, especially when going in or out of a driveway and the vehicle is "flexing" I also had the same issue on my Chrysler 300. here is my fix: open the roof and tailgate, clean the rubber seal and coat it with something, armor-all, silicone, etc. I use 303 aerospace protectant. no more creaking! I also do this on all the rubber seals on the doors a couple of times a year to keep them from drying out. hope this helps.

You may need to have the sunroof looked at. It's a common issue with the pano roof if you have that on the SRT.

When stuff like this happens to me, I try to sit as close as I can to the problem area while someone else is driving..

Just an idea.

How did you diagnose this? I've tried driving with someone in the back and we couldn't locate it. I guess I should have sat in the back. I hadn't noticed it for a while, but when I try I can still here a rattle in the back over bumps. I've already tried removing everything and it's nothing like that so it seems to be plastic or metal somewhere in the back, right rear area I think. I can't determine the sunroof frame is the cause and tried to diagnose it based on those TSB instructions, so maybe mine is the rear gate, don't know.

Re: annoying creaking noise for rear passenger interior

There's a tsb on it, there's a link to it somewhere in one of these threads.
Far as I can tell, the only way to deal with it is to bring it to the dealer -- something to do with the pano roof and inadequate adhesive. I think they have to take apart at least a portion of the headliner.
I plan on making an appointment to have this done sometime this month.

Re: annoying creaking noise for rear passenger interior

Going on a year with a rattle somewhere in my lift gate that is unsolved. Although I only hear it when I come to an abrupt stop or hit a ramp at a certain speed. I've combed through everything trying to find it, taping down parts I thought may be the culprit with no luck. It's maddening.
