Re: Annual state inspection.

I arrived at the dealer this morning with my $21 inspection coupon and stick with the hacking recall flash. Turns out they had 5 new (since my August oil change) flashes listed for me too. TPM, PCM, TCM, AMP, radio. They told me that one of them had about 120 updates on it. Beats me as the Bluetooth still drops my phone too often. Well, it does downshift smoother, though I really never noticed an issue with it as I come from the Powerglide transmission era.
And they only charged me $10 for the inspection, probably because the vehicle is so new. Nice to have an honest dealer as I would have paid the $21.

Being in upstate NY you probably are only required to pass a NYS mandated "Safety Inspection" which by law they can only charge $10.00 for.

On a side note, your signature lists Nokian WRG3 SUV tires.
I've been a big Nokian fan over the years and used to run their WRG2 tires. Currently I'm running their Rotiva AT all-terrain SUV tires.

How do you like the newer WRG3 SUV tires on your Grand Cherokee??

I am running WR G2's on our 2012 Subaru. I was so impressed with them I put the equivalent WR G3'3 on my 2015 Jeep the day after delivery about this time last year. The reason I put the WR G2's on the Subaru in the first place was because I was getting tired of changing tires on 2 vehicles twice a year and I had seen the tire on other Subarus. What a great idea... a 12 month tire which is a compromise between an all season and a winter tire.
I realize they will not last as many miles as the Michelin LTX M/S 2's I had on my 2011 Jeep but after 3 winters on the Subaru and one winter on the 2015 Jeep I am believer in this type of tire.
BTW member "1stJeepGC" is running Rotiiva A/T's and has reported very positively about them on here. Actually he drove my Jeep a couple of weeks ago and commented that my tires were quieter than he expected.

4 Phones (HTC M8, HTC M9, Samsung S5 and LG G4) and two Jeeps (2014, 2015) and Bluetooth was Solid on all of them on every update.

Thanks for your input on the new Nokians, I would expect them to run quieter than the Rotiiva A/T's. I was also was looking for a tire I could run all year round, that's what led me to the 1st set of Nokians I purchased years ago.

Actually I believe I'm the one that first turned 1stJeepGC on to the Nokians he's currently running.

Greetings,

Yes, I did ask how you liked them on the JGC. Currently, I have 40K+ on them.

I did hear about Nokians before I had the JGC in my Pathfinder days from a guy in Vermont. At that time, they did not have my size for that WR or the Voltria which was the prelude to the Nokian. When I was ready to get rid of my BFG Rugged terrain's, I saw Nokain had the Rotiva's in the 18's.

And that is when I started asking in the forum. And yes, after your reply, I got them. Now, I am stuck on Nokian.

Sorry gang for the side track.

Best for now.
