I would guess the Nappa is a better quality grade of leather. Maybe from free range cattle with no barbed wire fencing......LOLOLOLOLOL! J/K

Re: Another confusing order/buying/owning experience... (long)

Now, on to the next. maybe someone else with an 11 can chime in here.
i have a shuddering/vibration intermittently (doesn't happen all the time) on acceleration? what could that be all about? it has 1000 miles on it. does it slightly on the deceleration, not as much though. fairly pronounced at times, passengers asking what in the world is that. generally in the 3k rpm range.
maybe something that goes away as it gets broken in?
any ideas? confusing because its so freakin new.

I got 11 overland and mine does the same thing. i hate to admit it but its true. have no clue what it is about. i guess im glad to hear im not the only one.....i wonder if it is transmission related?....it doesnt seem to affect acceleration but it feels like you're driving over slightly rough pavement for about a second or two, i know exactly what you're talking about. Its not so bad that im worried about it and it doesnt happen often, but it does from time to time. if you figure it out, let me know!

I am not sure if you have looked at the TSB thread but I think that will answer your concerns.

You joke, but this is actually true. There's a video on Jeep's youtube channel talking about how nice it was to be able to go shopping for sources for premium materials now that Marchionne is in charge. He talks about sourcing the Nappa leather, explicitly stating that the cattle couldn't be kept around barbed wire fences due to the scarring it causes.

I just ordered a 4x4 Overland V-6 and the dealer told me that the Tow Package was standard.

If it is, that's a recent change. When I ordered mine, the Towing Group was extra.

Guys, I love the new GC just like the rest of you. However, between orgasms keep in mind the old sayings,"Buyer beware" and "A fool and his money are soon parted".

It is obvious from all of your posts that Jeep/ Chrysler is still FUBAR. You are dropping 40K+ on a vehicle that no one knows how is equipped. If you think about it it's like a bad Saturday Night Live skit. The manufacturer, dealers, brochures, Milous, and everyone else has conflicting information. I can only imagine how F'ed up that factory is right now.

So please wait at least 6 months before you order. You won't regret it.

Different dealers do things in different ways, but at least mine said the $100 deposit is fully refundable if we refuse delivery. If the vehicle is not equipped as I expect, then I'm out nothing but the time I spent anticipating it, and I'll just make another order once everything settles down.

Given the demand for these, I would expect many dealers might be much the same with the deposit- not like they'll have trouble selling it to somebody else.
