Re: Another Recall?

...and if you are lucky enough to have a 2011, there will be another recall for the TIPM (in the future).

Another Recall?

Got the vanity mirror recall notice last week for my 2014 Limited (build date 4/13). Hadn't done brake booster recall yet part just came in. Traded it in this past weekend for a 2014 Overland build date 5/14 with no current recalls.

I guess I am glad they are doing something about it, but thinking about Edward Norton's character in Fight Club and his occupation, I have to wonder; how many Grand Cherokees burned up before this recall was issued?

Would prefer a recall and open honesty from Jeep to fix issues as they arise then ignoring them

Re: Another Recall?

It says there is a problem only if you have had visor repairs, headliner repairs, or removed headliner. I haven't have any of those things done....so I probably will skip it. Looking for advice from others.

With the various threads out here on the subject, the vast majority of responses are to do nothing.

Re: Another Recall?

Take a look at the TSB. See what has to be removed in order to perform the recall. There is no way that the dealer will have everything put back together perfectly as it is now. I can just picture the grease marks on the headliner alone.

And then I will have NEW BASS rattles when I boom my system...no thanks. Door already beginning to rattle when I hit the lows. Wish I knew how to tighten the passenger door interior.

Re: Another Recall?

Luck you, I'm still waiting for the return call from Westbury Jeep for the brake booster! Been on the waiting list for a little over 2 months!

Re: Another Recall?

When I had the ignition switch which fell into the dash fixed on mine, they pried off trim and damage the wood moldings, so I had to go back and have that repaired. It is enough to make me hesitate to allow them (Huntington Beach) to perform this recall work, especially if they assign the same ham-fisted "technician." The tiny little dealership in Irvine is also not appealing. Which one do you-all like for service in southern California?
