After many man (and woman) hours of research and reading many different automaker forums, we finally decided to order a 2014 Summit (white/brn) with the Hemi. Thanks to Chris at Hawk for his patience....
I would normally feel an overwhelming joy, but for some reason I am fairly reserved at this moment. On one hand, I want to support my home state's economy and workers and on the other hand the amount of issues that seen to be associated with this vehicle has me nervous. Combine that with the long wait for delivery certainly won't alleviate that anytime soon, but I digress...
This will be the second Jeep for our family(well for me). The first was an '88 Cherokee and that was bought because it was the only 4-dr SUV on the market at the time. Traded in my 83 S-10 Blazer for it. I sold it only 2 years later because..well it didn't treat me well with the amount of annoying issues that seem eerily similar to the present day scenario with the new JGC. But I sucked it up and wanted to believe, so here we are
The current model has some much going for it (in theory) and the wife likes the styling and the way it drives. She is also concerned about the reliability which is why we haven't purchased earlier in the year.
Now the immediate issue is getting one as it seems that the Summits are on hold. So you guys in JNAP make us proud and make us feel better that we made the right decision.
BTW, the wife is threatening to get a login here. She's a tough customer so don't say I didn't warn you all
Oh..and Go Tigers (or Lions if we have to wait that long..)
