Another WK2?

So I think I convinced my wife that we should be a two Jeep household. So my question is should I get another Wk2 (already have a Laredo X) or a Wrangler Unlimited. I'd like to have the luxury of having a wk2 especially on longer trips, but wonder if I get a wrangler would I get more out of any off-road experience, even more so than if I got a very off-road worthy wk2. I realize this is a wk2 thread and might get more bias, but I'd like your thoughts anyway. - thanks!

Get a new wrangler with the 3.6!

That would be a nice looking driveway!

If I were to do it all over again and I would have bought a Rubicon and let my wife drive the Limited, I love my Laredo X but would be nice to have a wrangler too.

At the least we wouldn't have bought 2 Hemi's, she said she would have been happy with the V6. We drove a V6 as a rental, it was fine. I was happy to get back to the Hemi when we got home.

One of my friends who recently picked up a WK2 (nearly identical to mine) is now selling his Harley to get a new Wrangler. His rationale was that with a Wrangler he can have a safer open-air motoring option but with more utility. Jeep quality appears to be quite good as far as the WK2 line, but I wonder if that QCQA transfers to the Wrangler too?

That's interesting that all have recommended a wrangler in the GC thread, I didn't expect that. I think my wife would drive the Laredo-X and I would drive the Wrangler.

Sounds like you have two really nice rides and both very capable off-road. So you in good shape. My Laredo-X is just QT-1, not much else in terms of off-road, but has all other creature comforts.

@BMwister
I'll have to look into the QC on the wranglers. I guess that could be an issue if I'm used to the GC level.

I'll definitely be waiting for the 3.6. that should be nice.

LOL..I can second that...love my G37! Funny you say that though as I am selling my loaded 2009 G37 (not X...RWD) to make way for a new JGC.

The Wrangler is a good idea, bit IMO you should be sure you want and will use that extra offroad capability more often than infrequently. One could like the notion and end up disappointed that the pavement manners, capacity, tow ability, and overall DD tendencies of the Wrangler are not quite comparable to the JGC.

YMMV, but a sports car or sports sedan would be cool especially if you both aren't hauling kids or cargo.

We have a '97 Wrangler Sahara with the 2011 Overland. Consider getting an older Wrangler so you don't have to worry about damaging it as much. And they are much smaller and more fun to drive. The current Wranglers are super-sized in my opinion.
