Any interest in a automatic stop/start disabler?

Well I know there is interest! While visiting other FCA forums I have found that this is a major request that people have with there v6 engines.

First, if the mods want to move this thread please do so. I posted here as I know this has been a subject throughout various threads (disabling stop start) regarding the 2016+ v6 grand cherokees

A little background on myself, I am programmer by trade in the commercial/industrial industry for HVAC, electrical, security Etc.... Another large part of my field of work is information technology.

I have two versions in mind of how i could do it. I will not explain the details but there would be no wiring integrated with your vehicle. Both versions would have a button that overlays onto your existing disable SS that presses it for you when the time is right. In the end this add-on button would be no more thicker than a pencil and would not be some ugly thing in your car. The ring shaped housing could be made of anything ...plastic, metals like polished stainless, mokume, Tamascus, Damascus..lots of options and I know a few people that work with these materials with cnc machines.

They would be self powering with optional battery backup. Completely wireless is possible between the transmitter/receiver(button). The transmitter in both wireless/wired would be about the size of a pack of ciggerates and you could mount it anywhere.

I think I am going to try making one up no matter what as a little side project. Anyone want to try one if I do? I don't have a SS vehicle so I can't ;) . It would be a coupe months or so before I get a test version ready.

Saw those briefly a while back. Does it disable it on all brands via the OBDII port? That's the direction I was going in but to support multiple brands/models is not something I would want to do via obdii. As most vehicles have a way to disable it via push button it's a one fits all solution. Transfer from vehicle to vehicle etc..

Just read a bit more, looks like it supports most Jeep/dodge products and could do others in the future.

Why Bother? Hate to admit it, but my 2016 75th's start/stop has NOT functioned properly accept for the first couple months! Then cold Fall Days hit and I attributed it to the weather. Not driving much during the cold rainy Fall/Winter months I didn't think much about it to bring it in to the Dealer - until it's 1st Oil/Filter change about 6 weeks ago. They "supposedly reset" the "Thing," and it appeared to work for a few days! Yup, you guessed it, NO, it just doesn't want to work. I am probably in the large Minority who does want it to work, so perhaps you can imagine MY (opposite of your) Frustration!
Unless I am On-The-Road (Hwy.) I'd much prefer to be saving gas and the air quality (for all our sakes). Yes, yes I do care about those things (Earth Day #1!).
I just got off the phone to Dealer and set an appointment - could this 1 item have Lemon Juice stains all-up-in-it? Ha ha! I suppose it could of been worse . . . after the oil/filter/inspection of the Recall item, they told me I did NOT need to have the part replaced - no worries my WK2 could catch fire and burn me alive! At least not cause of that! Wow, what a relief; I feel so much safer now . . . hee hee!

Now that makes sense. Wonder why the guy at the counter or the guy doing the work did not mention that? Makes sense because Most of my driving is short trips back and forth in town! I will have to drop by the dealer on Monday to have a chat and most likely cancel my appointment - probably under warrantee (free), but kind of silly - I'll check it last week of June when I take a 2.5 hr. trip (@60mph) with some slowdowns on my next fly fishing 'venture!

This goes to prove that "Old Dogs" CAN learn new tricks . . .
