Re: Any of you WK2 owners have/had Wranglers?

Got both right now. This is our third Grand, and about my 8th Wrangler in my lifetime with a bunch of other stuff in between!

For $7k you will have to look at a TJ at least. I sold my 2000 wrangler this summer for $12k to give you an idea, but I had put alot of money and love into her. Great Jeep that lasted me 7 years with no problems and I had 90k miles. Get the 6cyl 4.0 manual.

Re: Any of you WK2 owners have/had Wranglers?

I had a 98 Sahara and then an 07 X 2-door, both stock, both awesome in their own ways. The 98 was much faster, the 07 was bigger and smoother.

I miss them both. I traded to a WK2 because we've got a kid on the way... one of many sacrifices to come!

I had a 2007 JK unlimited and I now have a 2012 JGC Overland. The JGC is so nice compared to the JK, but I will miss the ruggedness of the JK at times.

What years should I consider and/or exclude. Coil vs leaf suspension? Is the 4.0 the motor I want? I've seen a bunch of 4.0's with mileage in the 125k-140k, is that a lot for the motor or are the good for a lot more? I don't want to buy a 125k motor to find out that I need to rebuild it. Any insight regarding this would be great.

Mods: I know this may be in the wrong forum, but since I usually post here and trust these guys advise thats why I posted here.

Well IMO the 07 and up are the easiest to build up due to parts and price the 07-11 have the 3.8 not the best motor. I traded mine in with 180000mi with minor repairs the exhaust manifold is known to crack around 60 to 80000mi & unknown oil consumption like i said they are real easy to modify with LiL to no mechanical experience and tons of 2nt hand parts available cheap
