Any off road trails in binghamton or ithaca?

I happen to be up in this area today with the day off and wanted to drive through some trails...anyone from around here know of any trails?

Re: Any off road trails in binghamton or ithaca?

i grew up in the area, there are no real offroad trails what so ever, certainly nothing like out west

plenty of forest service roads to go play around on, especially if they are wet and/or snowy...still can have some fun there

edit: actually look for state forests, unmaintained roads

It's been many years, but we used to go 'upstate' to drive around the state lands. There was so much open land that you could do just about anything you wanted on, short of criminal activity or destruction of the environment.

Some of the fields did require somebody walking ahead to avoid some natural hazards.

Have fun.
