On the yakima site they list a railgrab system that will work with the stock rails. True or false?

Re: Anybody know ETA on Thule or Yakima Racks?

Hello ... I have Thule racks that I use to tote around 2 Pungo 120 Kayaks. The Thule system does the job well. I would stay away from the areo rails and just go with the box rails as there are more systems compatable with them. My system is the Gulide and set system. I do have the wind deflector (really cuts down on wind noise and whistleing) I only put the racks on when I am going to use them ... takes about 15 min. Good luck to you...

True story; just bought them (see attached pics)....

Overall, this system seems ok. At first i didn't think I'd like it since the rail Grabbers rest on the out side of the rails, but the inside clamps keep it secure. The fit looks a little strange, but they are clamped on to those factory rails really well. There is no noticeable wind noise....

.....a couple more views of the Yakima Rail Grabber system.... Still getting used to the look, but I think this will be a great system once I attach a couple of the FatCats on them.

What is the distance between the load bars and the roof? I currently have the Mopar rails however I don not like how high they sit.

Re: Anybody know ETA on Thule or Yakima Racks?

As you can see from the 2 pics, it's 2inches of clearance over the sunroof for the front bar, and a little less than 2 over the raised roof area over the back bar

Re: Anybody know ETA on Thule or Yakima Racks?

I love the low profile of the crossbars. I just wish that the towers were a little more elegant. Does anyone know the clearance of the Mopar and the Thule crossbars?

Do you have any photos that you could post, Kevlars? I've also had a good experience with Thule and am going to rig for two kayaks. However, I'm amazed by the mileage difference between towing a kayak on a trailer and putting it on the roof. My mileage is MUCH better towing than cartopping.

The Mopar ones measure just over 4". I don't like them, everything seems to sit way too high above the roof.

Re: Anybody know ETA on Thule or Yakima Racks?

Ouch! Two inches with Yakima and four inches with Mopar? Now I'm leaning toward Yakima, but I still have to see Thule. Or maybe I'll just have Rack Attack rig a whole new system for me.

The Thule bars set up 3" from the roof with the 460 Podium feet.
