Re: Anyone else hate the new '14 key fobs?

The pic doesn't do justice until you hold a '13 next to a '14.

I've thought about removing all other keys from the fob but I live in a high rise so I have keys and fobs for everything. If i always had to grab a different set I would never have the key or fob I actually need.

"Or change the front and back door to the keypad locks and carry no keys" _ that is the thing I miss the absolute most from my F150. Ford was brilliant coming up with key pad. I never had to carry my keys anywhere. I would throw them under the seat, lock the door and go!

Re: Anyone else hate the new '14 key fobs?

Why are you putting your other keys on the fob?!? I just put the fob on my normal key ring like I would a keyless remote.

Re: Anyone else hate the new '14 key fobs?

I'm not quite understanding the problem here. The fob does everything as advertised. I toss it in my pocket and off I go. It's so simple a caveman could do it!

Re: Anyone else hate the new '14 key fobs?

I carry the key fob by itself in my pocket. Works fine for me that way.

Re: Anyone else hate the new '14 key fobs?

So this is getting way too involved . . . yes, I put my fob on the same ring I have my other keys on but the '14 fob is much bigger and thicker and doesn't lay (or hang) on the key ring like the '13 did.

I really appreciate all the feedback - I was simply wondering if anyone else felt this way about the '14 fobs and if I could reprogram a '13 fob for my SRT

Re: Anyone else hate the new '14 key fobs?

I guess you got your answer, most people don't hate the '14 key fob.

Re: Anyone else hate the new '14 key fobs?

While we are talking about the FOB's...I assume you get two. If you wanted a third can you get get one? How much? Any non-dealer options?

Re: Anyone else hate the new '14 key fobs?

What happens if two fobs are in the car with different presets?

So how does the VALET mode work in this car? I always carried 2 keys with me (the valet and one main key). The Valet key only started the car - it could not open the trunk or the glove box compartment. On these cars do you get a 3rd VALET key fob with fewer buttons or is there some UCONNECT Valet Mode that you can put the car in - a Valet Mode which is numerical keypad locked ?

I don't believe there is a valet key or mode.

Re: Anyone else hate the new '14 key fobs?

I've heard so many horror stories from my friends about damage to their cars done by valet parking attendants that I wouldn't even consider using it. So far, I've never encountered a situation where it was mandatory, and hope I never do.
