Re: Anyone else not having problems?

Over 600 miles here and not one problem. I just registered UConnect last night sohave not tried remote start and other functionality, but will report back if there are any. Not rattles, no paint defects, everything operational, and 19.5mpg overall (including the factory driving and my brother-in-law!).

Re: Anyone else not having problems?

Two days old, and no problelms/issues found. Really an impressive vehicle. Wife is still working on an easy way to climb into the Jeep following her recent full-knee replacement. But that is not Jeep's issue.

Re: Anyone else not having problems?

Almost 700 on an Overland V6 with no problems minus the electronics locking up once on day 2. What a fantastic vehicle. Now I find myself looking for errands, just so I can go out for a ride.

Re: Anyone else not having problems?

Hi all I just traded in my Liberty 4x4 for the new 2014 GC only with 120 miles. However I notice there a whistling wind noise when the vehicle when go pass 35 MPH especially noticeable when driving in local street. I first through might be a windy day (as it was last night). But just took it for a short drive this morning (no wind), and once it get up to around 30-35 mph it happen again. I can't find where the noise is coming from or felt any wind coming to the cabin. Does anyone also have this issue?

GC Laredo 4x4, ORA1, 18"-8.4 radio group.

Re: Anyone else not having problems?

I have 2500 miles on my 2014 Overland and I LOVE IT. I have found a few bugs in the UConnect software. Specifically how it handles USB and SD media. And I'm annoyed that the screen doesn't revert back to the previous state after an incoming phone call is terminated. But, that's strictly software and should be fixed in an update.

I've had numerous SUV's in the past, 4Runner, Durango, ML430, X5 Sport, and the list continues. This vehicle is my favorite by far. Quiet, comfortable, smooth ride that rivals any of the luxury SUVs, without the snootiness.

I, too, am a little paranoid after reading about all of the complaints here, but I am a very happy camper overall.

Re: Anyone else not having problems?

Stunning how good this truck is on the highway. Amazing that such a capable off-roader is so refined on the highway, especially at high speeds. At 85 it's as stable as anything I've driven to day. Over 400 miles and no issues so far.

Re: Anyone else not having problems?

I took delivery on my 2014 Summit on May 4. Drove 600 miles today and have had no issues.

My 2011 Overland is the best car that I have ever owned. I wanted to trade while the residual was still good. I was starting to have some concerns based on a bad experiences posted by a few owners.

I don't think I will have any regrets. The following a few initial observations based on one full day of driving:
  • I looked the vehicle over closely at delivery and saw no issues other than a bit of condensation in the side of the headlights. I will monitor this over the coming months.
  • I didn't feel any issues with the power of the V6 compared to my 2011 Hemi.
  • The electronics are great. I have had no issues. I have even used the app on my iPhone to remote start. Pairing with my iPhones was easier than the 2011. Many great new features. It all seems to work as intended.
  • I love the brown interior on the Summit. It is a bit darker than I expected, but I really like it. I thought it would be the same brown as the dark frost on my 2011 Overland. However, it is more of a dark raisin color. Very rich looking and much preferable than the black (to me at least).
  • The exterior change are growing on me (headlights, wheels). I contemplated having the dealer switch the wheels on my trade (2011 Overland), but decided that I wanted new wheels since these have been through two Chicago winters.
  • I did not realize that the hitch is completely covered on the Summit. I like this since I will never tow anything, though it does not look as tough.
  • The transmission is great, though I like the sport mode better than eco mode, particularly at very slow speeds.
  • Loved buying 87 octane fuel. I know it should not matter when I spent $50K+ on a vehicle, but 89 octane, 13 mpg, and Chicago's high fuel prices made for unpleasant weekly refills.
  • I miss the buttons for the heated/cooled seats and heated steering wheel. Curious that these were removed when there are open slots on the dash. However, they can be turned on immediately upon starting the car (located on the initial safety disclaimer screen).
  • The larger screen is great. However, the rearview camera catches the top of the license plate.

Re: Anyone else not having problems?

So far so good. A coue of quirks with uconnect but nothing bad at all. It drives great and I haven't noticed any cosmetic or mechanical issues at all. Knock on wood!
