May have a decent adative package or may have minimal bit of junk, roll the dice. You are buying an additive package when you buy a brand, similar probably but there are differences. There is a website called top tier gas or something like that lists the brands that use a certain minimum additive package to be considered top tier. Most big names are on the list but surprisingly not all. Sunoco was absent last i checked which surprised me as it is a fairly big name around here. You wont see the cornner minimart on there its nice to help out the local mom and pop business but id ask whats in there (or lack of) if you are a regular.
I want to believe all that, but I'm having trouble. It's like the major airports. They all have large white storage tanks located on the premises, or a short distance away. If it's a A-380, or a 6 place Lear 23, they all get Jet-A from the same tank. Even though it says Aeroshell or Philjet on the side of the tanker pumping it in. Where is the place they put in all of these "secret additives"? I've never seen it, or even heard it discussed.

It's the same with all of these white or shiny stainless steel "no name" tanker trucks you see going down the road. I've seen them pull into name brand stations, and into bargain basement mini marts. You don't know where they came from, or what's in them. Considering that oil companies rank right up there with politicians in the honesty department, you can understand my skepticism.

That's another good point. I can find non ethanol 91 octane for some reason a lot easier than I can 89 octane. I much prefer a non ethanol based gasoline...... Although it is getting harder to find.

And "Flex Fuel" is a total joke. I don't think there is a single station in the entire Phoenix metro area that sells E-85.

I don't have any proof to back this up, but I have read before that additives are actually added right into the fuel in the tanker trucks.

5.7L Engine — If Equipped

This engine is designed to meet all emissions regulations and provide satisfactory fuel economy and performance when using high-quality unleaded gasoline having an octane range of 87 to 89. The manufacturer recommends the use of 89 octane for optimum performance. The use of premium gasoline is not recommended, as it will not provide any benefit over regular gasoline in these engines.

Light spark knock at low engine speeds is not harmful to your engine. However, continued heavy spark knock at high speeds can cause damage and immediate service is required. Poor quality gasoline can cause problems such as hard starting, stalling, and hesitations. If you experience these symptoms, try another brand of gasoline before considering service for the vehicle.

Note: The emphasis is on using a high quality grade of gas in the recommended octane rating, not the highest octane rating you can find.
I'm sure that's true for your 2014 V6 but my 2013 V8 guide does say 91 octane is recommended. No 91 around here so I use 93.

That's taken straight from the 2014 owner's manual for the V6 gas and V8. I don't know, maybe something changed on the V8 between the two years?

Edit...

Just went and checked a 2013 owner's manual and it says exactly what I posted above. Not sure where this recommended 91 octane is coming from.

Do you happen to know what the compression ratio is for your 2013 V-8?

Re: Anyone Here Use Fuel Additives ?

It could have been a carry over from the 2012 version and corrected in later editions.

My printed 2014 manual referred to the flipper glass. Up to version 7 they had bad info about the select terrain.

Whatever, if somebody wants to use 93 the only thing that feels any pain is the wallet, not mine It won't hurt the Jeep.

To me, using 93 is like doing early or more frequent oil changes than recommended. It makes the owner feel better, so it is money well spent.
