I'm not sure what's available on the Overland as I immediately gravitated towards the Summit, but I wouldn't give up the brown interior, ACC, blind spot, front running lights and the cooled seats. The crash warning is a cool feature too. The sound in the Summit is alright, but I can't imagine it being much worse. Don't get me wrong, I really love this Jeep. I've always been a German car buyer and this really restored my faith in buying American
Out of everything you mentioned, you would only lose the brown interior. I have the rest of the features on my Overland.

re: Anyone regret getting a Summit

I too went from a 2012 Summit (Hemi) to a 2014 Overland Diesel. I intended to go Summit again and the dealer had both a black/black Summit and Overland (Diesels). The Summit wheels, body panels, exhaust tips and lack of any contrast in the black interior turned me off completely. I got the fully loaded Overland and love the black leather with contrasting white stitching.

You wouldn't have saved that much. It's more about which one you like better at that point.

You can, but it requires some fabrication to open up the area where the tow hooks need to attach on the frame. (The attach points are there...they are just hidden behind the bodywork)

They are the same played out wheels since the wk2 overland debuted in 2011. I think the 14 summit wheels look 20x better. I just which they offered them in anthracite color.

I agree on the 20" wheels looking old since they have been available since the 2011 model year began in 2010. I like the 2014 Summit wheels since they are satin polished and not chrome. I also love the HK sound system (outstanding sound system for a mass produced vehicle) and the black alcantera headliner, visors and A pillars which gives the Summit a luxury look/feel.

And thats exactly the customer (luxury oriented) that Jeep was going after with the 2014 Summit. Hence no off road option or tow hook availability.

Re: Anyone regret getting a Summit

I don't regret it at all. Although, I still like the black wheel arch moldings on the Limited much, much better than the body-colored Summit arches.

Re: Anyone regret getting a Summit

So this is how it went down for me. From internet research i wanted an Overland in Billet Silver, with the black interior. Once I saw the Billet Silver I did not like it, because it is kind of blue. It appeared that all of the Overland and below Jeeps had the horrible copper colored chrome interior. I also like the brown interior on the Summit but it again came with the ugly copper colored interior. So I settled on a white Summit with black interior (silver chrome) Oh and I also like the dull grain in the woodwork which was not available on the Overland.
