Thought I'd ask everyone if there were any features they wish the new WK2 offered that aren't currently available. I for one would love to see a BMW-esqe HUD.
U Connect guardian their version of onstar, which was canceled,BMW also has their version, Mercedes benz has theirs,Lexus has theirs, and GM the original onstar the Americans that started it all.
I just found out that a replacement system is in the works, I saw it listed in some 2012 model year documents. It's *possible* that they could add it to the WK later in the '11 model year, but it is definitely on the 2012 WK schedule.
Painted trim option, Electric front locker, lifetime warranty, srt8 option, Front parking sensors, parking assist like the fords that will park the vehicle for you, factory trailer brake control. Different tune with more power for the Overland.
im baffled at the fact of no LED tailights when they went this far to make this into the premium/luxury market...an electronic e-brake would be fitting as well...seriously the foot operated one is a flashback to the 70s and gives a mini-van feel...also is it me or is there still a manual shift option ( + - ) on the new ones...the recent pics ive seen, i cant seem to make it out while there it is clearly there on the pre-prod pics....cmon jeep
I agree it should have had LED taillights and an electric parking break. The manual shift is still there, it's just hard to notice in the recent photos due to the angle of the shot and lighting. I had to zoom in and put my face to the computer screen to spot graphics on the shifter bezel.
Here is a decent picture, click it to zoom in. If this is in fact manual shift, why is it a side to side, not up and down? Up/Down makes much more sense. Or am I missing something?
LED lights? Who cares, this car has twice as much as ANY SUV out there. You cannot build an SUV with all of the features Jeep has... not from Lexus, BMW, Audi, Land Rover, etc... so I can live without them for now.

Does the WK2 have that many features you can't get from these brands? I can't really think of too many other than Quadralift, QuadraDrive the two big ones.
Makes my 2004 feel really dated then... I guess you guys are used to the side to side action. I'm used to the push-to-the-side to engage manual shift action, but I guess I'll adapt when I get the 2011.
No, not new features. But try getting an SUV with remote start & push button start... hard to find, usually you get one or the other. Then add panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, 30G audio system, reclining back seats, storage, flipper glass... yadda yadda yadda. It's pretty impressive, and that's not even getting into quadralift/drive.
I've been building other brands' SUVs for a few months and it's impossible to find one this loaded. They really did put some thought into this... that's all I was saying.
I wasn't saying you were wrong, I haven't been building any of the other models, but had kind of assumed they would have some of those features, but I guess getting them all in one is more difficult than I thought.
Yeah I've seen this on an Infiniti EX35? I believe. That is actually much more useful that backup cameras and parking sensors.
Also front parking sensors are retarded...if you can't see over the dash you probably should find something smaller to drive.
10-1 LED taillamps come in a mid-cycle refresh.
And why didn't they use the Ram-tune for the overland, just to differentiate it a little more.
I actually like that they all have plastic trim for the lips. 1 day in the body shop will make yours really stand out.
I don't much care about inovation I just want it to have all the features I want, and I want them all to work. Very difficult to find a truck that leaves virtually nothing out.
There's a cam in each side mirror and in front and rear of vehicle so when your in reverse it crops the image from each cam together to give it a birds eye view of all around the vehicle.
This might sound a little queer as far as a Jeep goes, but with all the other luxury items I figured I'd add this:
Integrated child booster seats like on the Volvos. A buddy of mine has a Volvo with this feature and I gotta say, for us with kids, what a great selling point.
