The manual mentions "approach lighting" in the outside mirrors. I assume this is either an Overland or Summit option. Could someone explain at this is and which model is it available with? I am wondering if this could be retrofitted to a Limited. Thanks!

It also turns on the HID headlights. I didn't like it, so in the EVIC, I turned the approach lighting off.

Don't know for sure, but it seems strange that it would not available on a Limit.
In theory you unlock your vehicle and the headlights turn on. Check the Evic menu to see if there is an option to activate it. As well as the option to have the headlights stay on for example 30 seconds after turning off, exiting and locking the suv.

I have the headlights and interior lights turn on. There is something in the manual (page 23) under "Illuminated Entry" that says "this feature also turns on the approach lighting in the outside mirrors (if equipped)". So I am guessing that there is a downward facing light, like a puddle light, that must be available on some GCs.
