Re: April, 2014 Consumer Reports - Annual Auto Issue
As a three-time Jeep owner, I am always interested in CR's ratings . . . although not interested enough to make them a factor in choosing a vehicle. Those calling CR biased have missed the point. As mentioned previously, an owner report of a defective radio or cupholder counts as much as a report of a blown engine.
IMO, Jeep has always had miserable fit and finish, but category-dominant drivetrain and running gear. IMO again, that dominance has evaporated in this highly competitve marketplace, leaving Jeep to be judged on the basis of its cupholders, and idiotically short-sighted cost controls.
The messenger-bashing I see here is pathetic, IMO. All of us love Jeeps, some of us want them to improve faster than others. Unfortunately for for the prospect of fast action, most of us are "enthusiasts" who are unlikely to "never buy another Jeep again" on the basis of fit and finish.
My thanks to the OP for posting this, hopefully Jeep will begin to start to commence to take notice--hahahaha.
